Gives the caster knowledge of a single topic, as much as (but limited to) what the subject knows. This is generally considered a single, given skill but need not be limited to skills. Minimum duration to allow the player to apply points to retain skills is 1 day, 6 hours with Eidetic Memory, or 1 hour with Photographic Memory.

This hex allows the caster to steal an ongoing hex or black magic spell from another. Note that this does not include supernatural powers such as Harrowed powers. When cast, a quick contest is invoked, with the caster’s skill level penalized by five but reduced by one for every hand level drawn – in fact, a high enough hand can produce a bonus to the attempt. If the quick contest is successful, the caster gains control and benefit of the opposing hex or spell for the remaining duration. Note that this cannot be used on Instant spells such as Soul Blast, the recipient hex must have a duration and already be going.

Despite the name, this hex does not perform odd jobs around a farm. Instead, it directly affects the state of a field of crops (also applicable to other plant life as well). The maximum radius of affect is determined by the hand drawn, although the caster can choose to affect less. The degree of affect is limited by the caster’s level; a caster can affect as many degrees as half their level rounded up. Degrees of change include state, such as dead to dying to poor health to average to healthy to robust; state changes can also degrade. Degrees of change can also include progression along the crop’s lifecycle; on degree of change is equal to a month of advancement (remaining at its current state or that of the change from the hex). This is primarily useful for restoring dead crops, improving under-performing crops in bad soil, or quickening the process from seed to harvest.

This hex causes plants that produce multiple fruit, such as vines or trees, to bear fruit so long as the plants are at the appropriate stage in development. The maximum radius of affect is determined by the hand drawn, although the caster can choose to affect less. This is primarily useful for achieving multiple harvests from a single crop cycle – or obtaining a harvest in passing while traveling. This hex will not alter the plant’s state of development; for that, see Farmhand.

The subject of the hex is made to perform mischievous activity. The degree of maliciousness depends on the subject; the subject will not perform mischief that is uncharacteristic for them. Despite this limitation, the subject will realize that they were under the influence of a hex after the hex is over. The hex may be resisted with a contest of Wills, with the caster getting a bonus based on the hand drawn. The primary use for this is to cause a diversion through another person.

This hex banishes any single manitou back to the Hunting Grounds. It is resisted by the manitou’s Will versus the caster’s Will, not hex skill level. The hand drawn gives bonuses above the base hand. Greater manitou are unlikely to be affected, given their much greater Will. In the case of a Harrowed, whose existence is also at stake, the Harrowed member’s Will is added to that of the manitou.
